About the Challenge

The Challenger seeks a compassionate Superhero (teen, youth, or adult) ready to commit a minimum of 15 hours to bringing joy and assistance to special needs children. This heroic act can involve any approved activity that directly benefits these children and results in genuine smiles and positive experiences.

Activities could include volunteering in a medical or therapeutic facility, assisting with adapted sports or recreational programs, guiding children on accessible nature trails, or supporting organized creative sessions. The key is active involvement and dedication to making the children feel seen and happy.

The Challenger pledges to donate up to $500 to a verified charity that specifically focuses on activities or support for special needs children, chosen by the Superhero. The Superhero must provide verifiable proof of the minimum 15 hours of service.

We request that Charity Challenge game administrators or creators verify the activity details and the chosen charity to ensure alignment with this impactful cause.

SuperHero Reflection Notes

Dear MissionMom, thank you so much for posting this challenge and giving me the opportunity to serve Special Equestrians! This experience was incredibly rewarding and truly fueled a ripple effect of good.

The experience: I dedicated my hours to Special Equestrians, an amazing charity that provides therapeutic horse riding to individuals with special needs. I served as a sidewalker, a critical role that involved walking alongside the riders and the horses to ensure the safety and physical support of the participants during their therapy sessions. The experience was transformative. I've attached photos showcasing the beautiful horses used in the therapy sessions, but have opted not to include pictures of the riders or staff to strictly protect their privacy.

Key Learnings: Serving as a sidewalker taught me so much more than just safety protocols. I gained a deep sense of compassion by connecting with the riders and witnessing their determination. Successfully supporting the riders required constant team coordination and effort alongside the instructor and the horse handler. Above all, this experience reaffirmed the value of service and the profound joy that comes from contributing directly to the well-being of others. It was an honor to support a charity that brings so many smiles to these special superstars.
