SuperHero Reflection Notes

Dear Presley, thank you so much for posting this challenge! It provided the perfect fuel for our recent youth-led efforts and helped affirm the value of the work we're doing in our community.

My activity was serving as a youth leader for a local community organization, focused on planning, conceptualizing, and executing a cultural event alongside my fellow youth leaders. This required true leadership across all phases: organizing detailed schedules, coordinating with participants, and setting up the event space itself. We created an event by our youth, for our community, where we shared our stories, culture, and hope. This experience was truly community-centered, and as the caption says, it was “a moment on stage, a mission for change.

This challenge was a powerful reminder that leadership is about showing up, supporting others, and growing together. Working with my peers and mentors was an enjoyable experience, helping me develop a much stronger sense of cooperation, communication, and leadership in a real-world setting. The appreciation and energy from the event highlighted that the recognition I got represents our whole community, every young person, every mentor, every shared moment of growth. I am grateful for this opportunity and proud of the amazing young people who make the work worth it.
